Imagine Dragons share video for their new single “Eyes Closed”

Imagine Dragons has returned with their new single entitled “Eyes Closed” and an accompanying music video via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope/Universal Music Canada.

“Eyes Closed” follows ID’s 2023 single “Children of the Sky (a Starfield song),” inspired by the blockbuster Sci-Fi role-playing game, Starfield. Their last album, the two-volume Mercury, was released over 2021-2022.

The video for ‘Eyes Closed’ sees frontman Dan Reynolds making his way through a desert maze and crashing his car; Reynolds shares: “After taking some time off the road and spending time catching up with family and loved ones, I finally have felt the desire to go back to the sonic places that originally brought me the most joy, but with a new outlook and mentality. The world looks much different after being a band for more than a decade. But some things will always remain the same. It’s finding that right balance of nostalgia and freshness that brings me the most joy in the studio. We had a lot of fun making this one and hope you enjoy it too.”

4 arrested in Oklahoma in suspected murder of 2 missing Kansas women

Authorities in Oklahoma have arrested and charged four people on suspicion of kidnapping and murder in connection with the March disappearance of two Kansas mothers, who were last seen driving through the Oklahoma panhandle last month.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation announced that Tad Bert Cullum, 43, Tifany Machel Adams, 54, Cole Earl Twombly, 50, and Cora Twombly, 44, were taken into custody on Saturday; they are suspected of kidnapping and murdering Veronica Butler, 27, and Jilian Kelley, 39, before they vanished on March 30. The four were booked into the Texas County Jail in Oklahoma on suspicion of first-degree murder, kidnapping and conspiracy to commit murder. Adams is the grandmother of Butler’s children, and Cullum is her boyfriend; while Cole and Cora Twombly have been in an eight-year relationship and are friends with Adams on Facebook.

Butler and Kelley were the subjects of an “endangered missing advisory” issued by Texas County authorities on March 30 after a vehicle they were traveling in was found abandoned in a rural part of Texas County south of Elkhart, Kansas, the bureau said. The women were only reported missing when the car they were driving was found 1,000 feet off Oklahoma State Highway 95, approximately 3 miles away from its destination. Butler and Kelley were considered acquaintances, as Kelley supervised Butler’s visits with her children. The women were traveling to Eva, Okla. to pick up Butler’s children who have been living with their paternal grandfather, according to NewsNation.

Butler and Kelley have yet to be found; Butler was in the middle of a bitter custody battle with the father of her children, seeking more visitation time, as she sought full custody of the children. KFOR reported that Adams is said to have had custody of the children at the time of Butler’s disappearance.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the women is asked to contact the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation at tips@osbi.ok.gov or 1-800-522-8017.

A mass shooting in a south Chicago neighborhood on Saturday night has left one child dead, and 10 people wounded, according to police.

CBS Chicago reported that three other children were among the 10 injured during a shooting in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood around 9:20 p.m., near West 52nd Street and South Damen Avenue. Chicago police said that the victims were at a family gathering when the shooting took place.

Chicago police said they responded to a Shotspotter alert of 18 rounds fired and found multiple victims with gunshot wounds at the scene. According to Chicago Police Area One Deputy Chief Don Jerome, officers then began providing life-saving care, including tourniquets and chest seals.

Scottie Scheffler wins Masters Tournament for 2nd time in 3 years

For the second time in three years, Scottie Scheffler has won the 2024 Masters Tournament, becoming the 10th man in history to claim two green jackets in a span of three years.  The No. 1 ranked Scheffler won by four strokes over second-place finisher, Sweden’s Ludvig Åberg. Max Homa, Collin Morikawa and Tommy Fleetwood tied for third at 4 under. Per CBS Sports, the 27-year-old Scheffler finished 11 under — four strokes clear of the field — after entering the 88th playing of the Masters as the favorite. Over the first three rounds, Scheffler either led or stayed within a single stroke after 18, 36 and 54 holes entering Sunday’s finale.

Scheffler said before 2023 champion Jon Rahm gave him the green jacket: “I did my best to stay calm out there. I did my best to stay patient on the course. And I was able to make some key shots and key putts today to keep my round going. Ludvig played great today. He made a move on me on the back nine, and I was fortunate to hold him off there toward the end.”

Åberg added: “Obviously, Scottie is an unbelievable golf player, and I think we all expect him to be there when it comes down to the last couple holes of a tournament. He’s proven it again and again, and I think he makes us better. He makes you want to beat him, obviously, and that’s the same for me and the same for everyone else in this field.”

On Sunday, Scheffler became the 18th man to win two Masters, and the first to do so over a three-year span since Bubba Watson did so in 2012 and 2014). At 27-years-old, Scheffler is also the fourth-youngest two-time Masters champion and the eighth golfer to win the first two major championships.

Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight to headline UFC 303 in June

UFC president Dana White announced that after an absence of nearly three years Conor McGregor will fight Michael Chandler on June 29 to headline UFC 303, taking place during International Fight Week in Las Vegas. McGregor has not been in action since breaking his leg in July 2021 in a trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

Per USA Today, the matchup will take place at welterweight, not middleweight as previously claimed. McGregor, 35, had announced he would be returning to fight Chandler during International Fight Week on June 29, and that it would be contested in the middleweight division, which ultimately proved false.

Chandler (23-8 MMA, 2-3 UFC) has long been targeted as the return opponent for McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) after the two fighters coached opposing teams on “The Ultimate Fighter” in 2023. Chandler, 37, hasn’t competed since November 2022, where he suffered a Fight of the Year contender loss to Poirier at UFC 281.

UFC 303 will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN.

Jeremy Allen White to star as Bruce Springsteen in upcoming film ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’

Jeremy Allen White will star as Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming film Deliver Me From Nowhere, which will chronicle the making of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska. According to Deadline, the film will be written and directed by Scott Cooper, with production set to begin this fall.

The premise for Deliver Me From Nowhere began when producer Eric Robinson heard Springsteen’s manager Jon Landau praising the recently released book of the same name by Warren Zanes on a podcast with Marc Maron. Robinson teamed up with Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and recruited Cooper to adapt the book into a film. Zanes said in a 2023 interview with Rock and Roll Globe: “I think ‘Nebraska’ has been a thing of collective fascination for a long time, and a book-length exploration of its making had a ready audience. I give the recording credit for the success of the book. Bruce released something that was unfinished, imperfect, a recording that couldn’t be cleaned up to meet commercial standards – but he felt in his gut it was exactly right for the songs. He made a decision based solely on the art, and we don’t see a lot of this, for good reason. But a lot of people found it inspiring, myself included. When shit goes down in my life, I reach for Nebraska. And I’m one of many. In writing the book, I kind of wanted to know why. And there are others who seem to feel the same way.”
